One Eight Distilling District Made Vodka

One Eight Distilling is based in Washington D.C. They source from three different locations for the grain to make their vodka. Rye sourced from Virginia, malted rye from North Carolina, and corn from Maryland. They use “Russian filtering technology” to achieve a smoother consistency. In spring 2018, their core line of products received a makeover and updated brand name to District Made.

One Eight Distilling is named for Article One Section Eight of the Constitution, which, among other things, provided for the establishment of a district to serve as the nation’s capital. Founded in 2013 by Alexander Wood and Alex Laufer, One Eight Distilling is located in the District’s Ivy City neighborhood, at 1135 Okie Street, NE,Washington, D.C.20002.

Distilled From Any Agricultural Product, Most Commonly Grains Or Potatoes. Typically Distilled To 95% Abv. Water Is Added To Bring The Spirit Down To As Low As 37.5% Abv In The Eu And 40% Abv In The Us. It Is Usually Filtered, Often With Charcoal, Prior To Bottling. It Is Almost Always Clear And Unaged.

Rye Is A Traditional Crop Of The Mid-Atlantic As Well As The Most Commonly Used Grain In The Ancient Origins Of Vodka In Eastern Europe. We Use Russian Filtering Technology For An Even Smoother Finish But Make No Mistake, This Is A Vodka With Character. Keep An Eye Out For Future Limited Releases Of Special Infused Vodkas.
