Dry Fly 101 Proof Bourbon Whiskey takes an extremely unique route for their mashbill, being made with triticale grain. This grain is a hybrid of wheat and rye first bred in laboratories during the late 19th century in Scotland and Germany. The result is a bourbon that takes on the qualities of both grains with softer flavors being punched around by more dominating spicy ones.

Appearance / Color
Copper.
Smell / Nose / Aroma
Subtle spice, vanilla and oak. This has an incredibly unique nose to it, which is unlike any whiskey I have smelled before.
Taste / Flavor / Palate
Notes of caramel and toffee, offset by notes of clove and allspice mid-palate. The palate has a light-medium thickness. It is not quite as complex as the nose, but still flavorful. Big notes of orange become very present on the front and mid palate.
Finish
Long and slightly sweet.The finish is medium with bready notes covering the mid palate, orange zest on the front and back palate, and rye spice tingling the sides of the mid palate.
