$64.98 $58.48
Amrut Old Port Deluxe Rum is produced from 100% molasses sourced from native Indian sugar cane. Bright copper color and aromas of pistachios, peanut brittle and vanilla ice cream. The palate is dry and slightly fruity, with additional notes of tobacco and butterscotch. The rum’s long finish is accented with ginger, nutmeg and caramel. Amrut’s Old Port Deluxe Rum is created in Bangalore, using only Indian sugarcane. Its deluxe nature comes from maturation in a combo of ex-Whisky and new oak barrels under the hot Indian sun, giving the angels a hefty 12% share
it is Imported from East Indian Rum hails from the Amrut Distillery in Kambipura, Bangalore, India. Whether the juice contained in the bottle has changed much over the past few years I would doubt. Indian rum is often produced using some pretty suspect methodology. It is questionable whether this is actually truly rum. It is distilled from Sugar Cane but it is distilled to such levels that the distillate which remains is actually more ethanol than rum. It is believed that flavours etc are then added to the “rum”. This would explain the strange almost synthetic notes found with this and Old Monk Rum.
